Gasping for fortitude, grasping at illusionary straws … fears to grapple;
Purging of preset conformity, pursing of determined lips … truth to pledge;
Accepting the light, accelerating the messy mend … peace to affix;
Meditating for clarity, magnifying the aesthetic soul … creativity to motion;
Loving the moment, lavishing unabashed compassion … life to live.
Sunshine and Flurries
Sifting through the soil of loss and love,
Bathing in the waters of despair and desire,
Floating in the certain air of uncertainty,
Cautious of the flames of polar feelings,
Nature mimics my discord with sunshine and flurries,
Teaching acceptance, harmony, and beauty.
Her Iridescent Heart
She stood in a dim light before her heart
Seeing a dull reflection mirroring her assumed roles,
Worthy of society’s approving pat on the back,
Empty.
She stood in darkness behind her heart
Weighted by a lifetime of self-inflicted fears,
Warranting a tearful ugly release,
Lost.
She then stepped inside the iridescent glow of her heart
Feeling immense love, acceptance, and belonging,
Giddy with peace, purpose, and possibilities,
Full and found.
