Caulifried Rice

1/4 cup lard or butter
1 onion, chopped
3 gloves garlic, minced
1 cup bone broth
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 cups frozen (or fresh) peas and diced carrots
2 bags of frozen cauliflower, thawed, or 2 heads fresh cauliflower
1/4 cup sesame oil

Sauté onion and garlic in lard or butter. Add broth, salt, pepper, carrots, and peas. Briefly chop cauliflower in a food processor until size of rice and add to broth mixture. Simmer for 5-10 minutes. Remove from heat and mix in 1/4 cup sesame oil. Enjoy!

  1. I’m slowly putting more & more caulirice and less and less basmati rice into this dish. My kids would protest if I took the rice away completely, but I’m down to about 1/4 the amount of rice I used to make, and so far NOBODY’s noticed!!

  2. How good is fried rice using cauli instead of rice?! Your recipe is almost exactly the same as the one I’m bringing to life tonight for dinner 🙂 I’m also adding mince, scrambled eggs, broccoli, spring onions, capsicum and herbs to my dish. Yum!!!

  3. Excellent recipe. I also add scrambled eggs and shredded cheese with mushrooms to this. It has many expansive possibilities, spiced to to taste and really good.
